April, in a few notes

Dear Life Noters!

Two things came to life this month, and here's what's new.

Life Note now fully supports 8+ languages.

The mentors speak 14 languages, but the full experience now supports Japanese, Korean, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

If you'd love to see your language being fully supported, just reach out and let us know!

Goals, redesigned around you.

Life is not project management.

Most goal apps treat it like one. Set the target, track the metric, mark it done. We don't think the goals that actually matter, to become someone, to live more honestly, to honor what you care about, work that way.

So we rebuilt the whole goal experience this month. Around the process. Not the finish line.

  • Your mentors come with the goal. They'll nudge you when you've been quiet, share their thoughts along the way, and ask the questions that keep you honest with yourself.
  • Each goal has its own home. A chat and a journal that live with that goal, so the reflections don't get lost in the noise.
  • A place for everything you've achieved. Evidence of your own action you can return to.
  • 23 timeless practices. Drawn from what your mentors actually did. Morning pages, shadow work, the Stoic reflection. Pick one. See how it sits.

Goals come in three layers now: a long-term life goal, yearly goals beneath it, and short-term practices that build momentum into the texture of your day. This will allow you to think long-term while experimenting with different actions in your daily life.

This isn't perfect. Try it. Please tell us what you'd change.

Life Note Community News

How journaling manifests your beliefs and allow you to take control of your story.

A Life Noter shared his honest 5-month journaling journey with Life Note on X:

“After about five months of trial and error, I finally found a journaling habit that grounds me.”

The article got a lot of love in the community, and I've personally learned a lot from reading it; it's in Japanese, but you can easily translate it. Here's one paragraph from the article that I really enjoyed:

“To accurately understand your present reality is what gives you productivity and a useful worldview. Beliefs do not appear overnight. Through the small daily accumulation of journaling, their outline becomes clearer little by little. I have felt this deeply over the past five months.

I believe people who can act without hesitation are not people who do not think. They are people who have already finished thinking. Journaling is precisely the habit that creates that state of ‘thinking already completed.’ I can now say this not as a theory, but from lived experience.

What accumulates through journaling is not knowledge or know-how, but the ability to understand yourself.

When you abstract what you write in your journal, it becomes Belief.

When you make what you write more concrete and dig deeply into it, it becomes a story. This is the benefit of journaling: You reclaim your storytelling authority. You deepen your beliefs.

By writing things down, you can grasp your current reality and the shape of your values with greater precision.

When you externalize your thoughts and emotions, you begin to notice:

“Ah, I unconsciously cared about this.”

“Ah, I actually hold this value.”

This is the scientific mechanism known as cognitive externalization.

I never imagined I would become this fascinated by it. I hope this piece can become the reason someone takes their first step into journaling.”

Hope you enjoyed that... and that's it for April, see you in May!

Reply if anything resonates. I read everything.

Life Note
